Stook! & The Jukes

Write a few tunes and have some fun recording in his basement with his friends – that was Stook!’s initial plan. But his debut album, The Soundtrack To My Minneapolis, quickly developed a critical buzz, culminating with an appearance on the 2006 Minneapolis Star Tribune annual Critics Poll and receiving a nomination for Best New Artist in 2006 by the Minnesota Music Academy.
Buoyed by the positive reaction he received, Stook! responded with 2007’s When The Needle Hit The Wax, ten new songs that carried the roadhouse spirit of Soundtrack, but armed with a new level of confidence and swagger. Fueled by his all-star backing band the Jukes, Needle confirmed Stook!’s status as an exceptional songwriter, ranging from tender ballads to straight-ahead rockers with stories of love, longing and loss.
Stook! is currently working on his third record, scheduled to be released in the fall of 2009.
